Since the animal's fleece has unique character and properties, each is handled individually. Some have wonderful color and luster and are used directly; others are dyed and perhaps combined with other fibers such as silk, llama, alpaca, and mohair.
The fiber is handspun into marvelous one-of-a-kind batches of yarn ready to be knitted, crocheted or woven into a very speical garment. The possibilities for cutom-tailored creations are endless.
Each sheep is halter broken and patiently trained to stand on a fitting stand to be shorn of its wondrous fiber. The sheep thrive under this careful handling and in return produce this wonderful, lustrous fleece. After the sheep are hand shorn, the fleece is washed and carded by hand.
